My name is Mara. I am a Dutchie, floating between The Netherlands and the land down under with my two girls, Aussie husband and my Nikon camera.

I grew up in a world of photography and have soaked up this art form for as long as I can remember. Two years ago, I decided to follow my own path as a professional photographer, specialising in portraits, landscapes and travel photography. Also, I occasionally like to create a fun project and write about it, so be sure to keep that space on your radar.

When I take someone's portrait, I'm captivated by their facial features — their smile, eyes or even their hair. I love finding out someone's story.

When I photograph a landscape, I feel like I'm meditating, but with a need to work quickly to capture what could be gone in a matter of minutes.

The best part of my work is my clients' happiness with the photos I take for them.
